Borgo Panigale, Bologna – Ducati Motor Holding closes 2019 with 53,183 bikes delivered to customers around the world, upthed the number of 53,004 units last year.
Panigale, with 8,304 units, has contributed significantly to this result, maintaining the record it won in 2018 and confirms itself as the best-selling supersports, with a market share of 25%.
The Hypermotard 950 and Diavel 1260, two of the new features proposed for 2019, reached 4,472 and 3,129 bikes sold respectively, doubling overall the volumes achieved in 2018 by the previous versions.

The 2019 sales confirm for Ducati a strengthening in the premium segment of the two-wheeler market.
"1919 was a challenging but also rewarding year. We are working to make Ducati the most desired motorcycle brand in the world, – said Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati Motor Holding – and the results we are achieving, the development of the range and the market responses, confirm that we are on the right track. Today, on the global market, one in four supersports is a Panigale and the technical content that we have transferred in the 2020 range of the V4 from the R version and our sports experience, confirm this bike as a reference of its category. In addition, the order book of the new Streetfighter V4, to be delivered from March 2020, has already exceeded 1,700 motorcycles."
"We are pleased with the results achieved in 2019 – adds Francesco Milicia, VP Global Sales – In the last twelve months, an important network development plan has been implemented, with 54 new dealers in 20 countries. This expansion plan will continue this year, in order to further improve our presence in the world and always offer our fans a premium experience."
The growth in sales in Italy continues, confirming the first market in the world with 9,474 units and a 3% increase towards 2018 and 20% in the last three years.
In the United States, in a market that confirms a negative trend with a -7% compared to 2018, Ducati deliveries amounted to 7,682 motorcycles, down only 2%.
Growth in Brazil (up 20%), Spain (up 10%) France (up 8%).
China, one of the countries where the Italian brand is most appreciated, continues with the positive trend that has characterized the last few years, and with 3,200 bikes sold (up 12%) becomes the 5th market for the Borgo Panigale Company.
The positive closure of 2019 allows Ducati to look to the future with optimism and confidence. By 2020, the product range is, if possible, even more complete with the arrival in the dealerships of the highly anticipated Streetfighter V4.
Panigale, in addition to the introduction of the new V2, can count on a major upgrade of the V4 that allows an increase in performance and ease of driving.
